Welcome, Flower Friends!

About the Farm

Fika Acres Farm (FAF) is a specialty cut flower farm located in Jessamine County (Kentucky).

We grow a diverse mix of newly bred varieties of flowers from other U.S. flower farms/breeders, uncommon varieties of crowd-favorites, and anchor those with tried and true flower varieties.

FAF has roughly 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre in commercial production. Regenerative and sustainable growing practices are one of the top priorities when it comes to producing our flowers. No icky chemicals on any of our flowers or foliage.

Hey There, I'm Jess!

I'm the owner and flower enthusiast behind Fika Acres Farm. After almost 10 years as a graphic and website designer, my life took an unexpected turn in 2024 when I traded in pixels for petals! As a disabled farmer with h-EDS and POTS, I know a thing or two about resilience, adaptability, and finding beauty in the unexpected.

At Fika Acres, we believe that flowers are more than just pretty faces—they are reminders to slow down, breathe deeply, and savor life's moments of joy.

Our farm is named after the Swedish concept of "fika," which is all about taking a break to enjoy a cup of coffee and a sweet treat with friends. We think flowers have the same magic; they remind us to pause and appreciate the beauty around us.

Regenerative Farming

Regenerative farming is an agricultural approach that goes beyond sustainability by actively improving soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem function. Rather than simply maintaining the soil structure, regenerative practices work to restore and enhance the land.

Our soils have been depleted by decades of conventional farming practices. Healthy soil is the foundation for nutritious crops, clean water, and carbon sequestration. As climate change accelerates and resources become scarcer, regenerative farming offers a proven path to build resilience and grow productive, thriving plants.

Here are some regenerative practices we use as Fika Acres:

  • Cover Cropping
  • Composting
  • Minimal-till for creating new planting areas and no-till on established planting areas
  • Integrated Pest Management (beneficial and predatory insects)
  • Drip Irrigation (water conservation)

At Fika Acres, regenerative growing is more than a practice- it's a commitment to leaving the land healthier than we found it.

These girls are the heart and soul of our farm! They often create more chaos than do any productive work, but that's ok, we love them nonetheless.

In Loving Memory

Lillian Mae "Lilly"

Lillian Mae "Lilly"

2016 - 2025
Forever in our hearts. Her departure was sudden and unexpected. She loved keeping me company while I harvested and worked in the flower rows. She was my rock- my protector. She brought me peace, before I was strong enough to chase it for myself. Life hasn't been the same without her. She was the goodest girl and will forever be missed.

Future Plans & Dreams

While FAF hasn't found its forever home, I'm actively on the hunt for the future home of Fika Acres Farm. I dream of a place where people can gather, be immersed in flowers, and slow down for even the briefest of moments.

If you know of someone looking to sell their 10+ acres, please reach out to me at fikaacresfarm@gmail.com.

Land accessibility for young and BIPOC farmers is at an all time low. The National Young Farmers Coalition is doing some amazing work to ensure farming has a bright future!
